1. Introduction
Jint Mobile App is the mobile application for Jint. It lets you access your essential information and tools on the go, delivering a centralized and productive user experience wherever you are. Jint Mobile App seamlessly extends your digital workplace.
Like the other Jint products, Jint Mobile App integrates tightly with your Microsoft 365 environment. The vast majority of data sources continue to reside in your company’s Microsoft 365 tenant. This document explains which information Jint Mobile App manages and may potentially store on your device for its proper functioning.
2. Data that Jint Mobile App displays only in read-only mode (Data residing in Microsoft 365)
The protection and confidentiality of your data are our top priorities. Jint Mobile App is designed to display information coming from your Microsoft 365 environment without permanently duplicating sensitive content on the device or on Jint servers.
Jint Mobile App does not persistently store the following personal data, which remain in your Microsoft 365 tenant and are accessed via secure APIs:
- Full content of your emails (displayed via the “My Emails” widget)
- Complete details of your meetings (displayed via the “My Meetings” widget)
- Detailed content of your tasks (displayed via the “My Tasks” widget)
- Detailed Microsoft 365 user profile information (e.g., Azure Active Directory information shown in My Profile, Employee Directory, Org Chart)
- Content of your files stored on OneDrive/SharePoint (displayed via the “My Files” widget)
This information is simply aggregated and presented in the Jint Mobile App interface for your convenience, using the context of the signed-in user.
3. Data that Jint Mobile App may store on your device or on Jint servers
To enable proper operation, personalization, and performance optimization, Jint Mobile App may store the following types of information:
General application configuration
- Jint Mobile App-specific preferences: display theme, icon, name, and address of the application, tab display order.
- These settings are defined by administrators through the Jint Mobile App administration interface and retrieved by the app. A cached version of this configuration may be kept on the device for faster startup.
Tab and widget configuration
- The structure of the tabs assigned to you (which widgets and their layout).
- Specific widget settings configured by your administrators on the platform (e.g., source SharePoint sites for news, specific content of the “Focus” widget, applications configured in “My Applications”, etc.).
Authentication data (stored locally and securely on the device)
- Authentication tokens (access tokens and refresh tokens) provided by the Microsoft identity platform. These tokens allow Jint Mobile App to keep your session active and access your Microsoft 365 data on your behalf without repeatedly prompting for your password. They are stored in a secure location on the device (e.g., Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).
Cached data (stored locally and temporarily on the device)
- To improve performance and enable limited offline viewing, Jint Mobile App caches certain data. Examples include:
- The latest Jint Mobile App or SharePoint news items viewed.
- Elements of the tab structure.
- Minimal profile information (name, photo) for quick display.
- This cache is temporary, regularly refreshed when the app is online, and can be cleared by the user or the system.
Jint Mobile App Articles (if this feature is used by your organization)
- If your company uses the “Mobile App Articles” feature (distinct from SharePoint articles), the content of these articles (title, body, images) is stored in a secure Jint database, not in your Microsoft 365 tenant. Jint Mobile App retrieves these articles for display, using the same data source as Jint Mobile App in Teams.
4. Access to data and configuration
Jint Mobile App accesses your Microsoft 365 data (emails, meetings, files, etc.) using the permissions granted by the administrator during initial setup, in full compliance with your company’s policies. The app acts only on your behalf.
The tab and widget configuration you see in Jint Mobile App is defined by your organization’s administrators via the Jint Mobile App administration interface.
5. Anonymization of usage data (for monitoring Jint Mobile App usage)
If data is collected to monitor overall usage of Jint Mobile App (in order to improve the service), Jint applies an advanced anonymization process:
- User identifiers: The unique Microsoft 365 user identifier is processed through a one-way hash function.
- Anonymized storage: Only the hash fingerprint is stored to link usage actions to an anonymous user. It is impossible to retrieve the original identifier from the hash.
- Purpose: These anonymized data are used solely to understand overall usage patterns, identify popular features, and improve the service, without ever storing the raw personal user identifier in usage logs.
