Widget overview
The Newcomers widget displays individuals who have recently joined the company using data from Microsoft Entra ID in your Digital Workplace.
This fosters a social connection to boost employee engagement and simplifies their integration.
User functionality
The Newcomers widget displays current information about new employees, such as their name, job title, and date of arrival. The button located to the right of the employee's profile picture allows communication with them through Microsoft Teams.
Use cases
This widget can be used to:
- Display newcomers for a specific period in the company.
Widget configuration
- Display Duration: Allows you to set the time period to show the most recent arrivals. It can be a specific predefined period or a custom period in days.
Prerequisites
The Newcomers widget uses information from your Entra ID to display the list of newcomers. We use the "Employee hire date" property to display your company's most recent hires.

For newcomers to be displayed automatically, the Entra ID administrator in charge of creating new accounts for your company must set this property for each account created.
This property can be updated manually, or automatically via the automated processes you set up to manage the arrival of your new employees.
