This article guides you through configuring the different social media feeds for the Social Media Wall component.
Overview of the Connection System to Your Social Networks
The Social Media Wall component displays posts from your platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.). To access these, it requires you to grant it a connection authorization for each of these accounts.
This authorization takes the form of a connection key generated directly from the relevant platform. You are solely responsible for creating and managing these keys, ensuring that your credentials and personal data never pass through our servers.
💡 Note: these connection keys have a limited validity period. Once expired, the corresponding feed will stop displaying. Please remember to renew them regularly to keep your social media activity active within the component.
Accessing the Social Media Wall Settings
Configuration is done in the Jint Configurator. A menu titled "Social Media Wall" has been added to this configurator.
To access it, you must have the role of "Global Administrator" or "NewsHub Administrator".
If you cannot access this panel, it is likely due to a lack of authorization. We invite you to contact your Jint solution administrators to obtain the necessary rights.
The Meta Network: Facebook and Instagram
Meta allows access to your Facebook and Instagram pages via their interfaces (APIs). However, the strict data privacy policy requires that each Facebook or Instagram page administrator explicitly authorizes the retrieval of posts made on these pages.
For more information regarding personal data management, please consult the Jint Privacy Policy related to the use of Meta.
Adding Facebook and Instagram Pages
- Select Facebook from the dropdown menu of the Social Media Wall in the Jint configurator.
- Click "Connect".
- A Facebook page will open; log in to your Facebook account.
- Click "Continue as <your Facebook name>".
- You have now authorized Jint to access the pages linked to your account. Click "Add a Page" to select the pages to display in your Digital Workplace.
- Choose the Facebook pages and Instagram accounts you want to integrate into your Digital Workplace.
- The pages will appear below. If necessary, click "Reconnect" to obtain a valid token.
- Once your page is connected, you can select it in the Social Media Wall component.
- You can remove an account from the list of offered accounts.
❗ Removing an account from the list does not revoke access rights to the page, only its presence in the list.
Having Trouble Adding Instagram Pages?
For your Instagram pages to appear in the available pages list in the configurator, they must be linked to one of the Facebook pages of the Meta account connected in the configurator.
To access the configuration page above, please click the following link: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=linked_instagram
For your information: A Facebook page is always created from a user account. Once the page is created, a specific account is automatically attached to it.
To associate your Facebook page with your Instagram account, you must ensure you are logged into the Facebook account associated with that page.
If the Instagram and Facebook accounts are properly connected, they should appear on this page: https://accountscenter.instagram.com/
YouTube
No specific permissions are required to access the YouTube API. You just need to have a Google Developer account.
- Log in to the Google Developers Console with the Google account you will use to manage the API connection.
- Create a new project.
- In the project dashboard, click "Enable APIs and Services".
- In the API library, select "YouTube Data API v3".
- Enable the API by clicking "Enable".
- Go to the credentials menu.
- Click "Create credentials" then select "API key".
- You now have an API key to access the YouTube service. You can find it in the credentials menu.
- Copy and paste this API key into the "API Key" field in the YouTube section of the Jint configurator.
- Click "Apply".
- You can now add a YouTube account to the Social Media Wall by copying the channel name or its URL into the "YouTube Feed" field, then clicking "Add".
Twitter / X is no longer available on Jint. Due to platform changes, content is no longer accessible.
RSS Feeds
You can add public RSS feeds to your Social Media Wall news feed. Simply add the URL in the configurator for the RSS feed to be available in all Social Media Wall components.
The Social Media Wall allows you to gather posts from the following pages:
- Companies - Small, medium, and large businesses
- Educational Institutions - Schools and universities
- Showcases - Sub-pages linked to an existing page
❗ Personal accounts cannot be integrated into the Social Media Wall.
LinkedIn posts appear in the Social Media Wall with an average delay of 8 hours, up to a maximum of 36 hours.
This delay applies when adding a new account in the configurator or when creating a new post on LinkedIn.
Procedure to add a LinkedIn feed:
- Go to the LinkedIn configuration page in the Jint configurator.
- Add the LinkedIn account name you want to follow in the "Display Name" field. This name will be visible in the component display as well as in its configuration panel.
- Enter the URL of the page you want to display in your news feed. The formats are as follows:
https://www.linkedin.com/company/microsoft/ for a company; https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/microsoftresearch/ for a showcase;
https://www.linkedin.com/school/digital-college/ for an educational institution. - Click "Add".
- The account will then be available in the component and its posts will display after a certain delay.
