Access the news settings
From the configurator, click on Unified Experience and then on the News menu located in the banner.
Configure the display of news
Display or hide the news
By default, the news is displayed. To hide it, deactivate the button "SharePoint news" option.
Number of news items to show
When opening the Unified Experience, the user sees the latest news items displayed in the middle of the summary of various elements. Enter the number of news items to display in this field. Be careful to adapt this number to the screen resolution and the rest of the content in the Unified Experience, so that the user does not have to scroll (this field is set to 3 by default).
Search configuration
This section allows you to define the source of the news to display, which can be:
- All site collections in the tenant.
- A specific site collection.
By default, the configurator is set to show the latest published news from all site collections in the tenant.
To show news specific to a site collection:
- Deactivate the "Display news from all collection sites" option field. The precision fields will then appear.
- Enter the URL of the site collection from which you want to retrieve news.
- Indicate whether the chosen site collection is a modern or classic site collection (the query used to retrieve the news will be different depending on the applied experience).
Save the changes
Once the configurations are made, click the Apply button to apply them.
