Presentation of the component
This article describes the WebPart component "Page comments with Yammer". It allows to insert in the footer, and instead of the native comments, an embedded Yammer flow is displayed. This Yammer feed is specific to the page.
By default, Yammer integration in Modern SharePoint sites is limited to adding a Yammer WebPart to display some last items of a feed, and to post simple messages.
We add the ability to comment on pages and events with Yammer, rather than SharePoint comments.
Add the component
Yammer comments are not enabled everywhere by default: we don't know in advance if the client wants to use Yammer and/or if using Yammer is useful for the site.
You have to go to the configurator, Unified Experience tab > Yammer. Indicate that you want to enable Yammer, and then enter the list of sites where you want this integration to be enabled.
The Group Id column is used to specify the Yammer group id used by default by conversations. Leave it at 0 for the whole company.
You can find the Yammer group id by following the Microsoft documentation.
Event comments
In the native SharePoint events page, a Yammer feed is inserted. There was no possibility to comment on events. This Yammer feed is specific to the event (open-graph mode of Yammer).
