A new version of the component "News - Obsolete" is available. Due to important changes, the update has not been performed on your page to ensure the proper functioning of your spaces.

It is possible to update the existing WebPart to the new Webpart from the control panel. More information on the News WebPart article.

Presentation of the component

This article describes the "News - Obsolete" WebPart that allows the user to pull up news from their current site or a set of SharePoint sites on a site.

It is ideal for displaying news from sites on the home page. It can be placed in a section occupying the entire width of the page, also known as the 100% zone. Several themes are also available to highlight your news.

you can reference pages with the same keyword. Example category "local news".

Add the web part

Open the edit mode of the SharePoint page by clicking on edit at the top right of the page,
Position the mouse over or under an existing web part, and click the "+" button to open the web part catalog.
Search or scroll down in the catalog to select the News - Obsolete web part
The web part is added to the desired location.

The options allow you to choose the scope of the news:

Categorization

It is possible to set the component to filter on a field. If you have selected a category field, you can then select a value in the page fields: only the pages corresponding to this category will then be displayed.

Audiences

This part allows you to filter and display a news item to one or more user groups according to their profile properties.

Display

It is possible to choose for the component :

The number of news to display.
To pin one or more news items
The sorting parameter :
Creation date
Date of modification
Custom : Choice of the custom date field.
The sorting order : ascending or descending
Display the pagination via the "see more results" button.
Choose the background color of the visual.
If the Slider visual is used, you can define the scrolling time between news in seconds
Choose which contact to display:
Hide
Author
Modify by
Custom : Choice of the custom contact field.
Choose the date display field :
- Hide
- Date of creation
- Date of modification
- Custom : Choice of the custom date field.

All articles button

It is possible to display a button that redirects the user to another page, like the all articles page.

This button is displayed when there is a URL in the parameter, it is also possible to place it at the top / bottom of the component and choose the color of the button.

*The categorization field must be a site column. You can display the tags of other sites, making sure that other sites have the same field (same internal name) to categorize the pages.
