Feature Overview
SharePoint Modern allows you to create and publish events, with relevant data across the enterprise. They are widely used in communication spaces, community spaces and team spaces.
This article describes the "Event Manager" feature that allows you to improve the management of native SharePoint Modern events by providing registration management.
Availability of the feature
This feature is deployed with the unified experience, it is available and usable instantly on all SharePoint Modern events.
This feature is an enhancement to the SharePoint Event Management feature.
Constraint of the functionality
The component is based on users' email addresses. It is therefore necessary that the email address be filled in Entra ID in order for a user to register.
Structuring the page
We reorganize the page by creating two columns. The left column contains the information about the event and the right column contains the actions that can be performed by the user.

Setting up registrations for an event
A Manage registrations button is added in the action bar of the page in display mode, with the other native actions. When clicking on this button, a settings panel appears. It allows you to define :
- Whether registrations are enabled for the event. It is not enabled by default.
- The maximum number of registrations Leave 0 to have no maximum.
- The start date of the registrations
- The end date of registration
- the visibility of the list of participants for the visitors
When registration is activated, the user can register if registration is open. Once registered, they can add the event to their Outlook calendar.
If the registration limit is reached, additional users are added to the waiting list. They are automatically switched to the registered list when a user from the registered list unregisters.
A user can unsubscribe at any time via the Unsubscribe button.
Using Enrollment Management
Activate registrations
Users need to be at least Contributors to be able to manage registrations.
- Go to the event page
- Click on the "Manage Registrations" button
- Activate the registration management
- Set up the registrations
- Save
Registrations are now available on the event.
Viewing and extracting participants
View:
- Go to the event page
- Click on "List of registrants".
Extract:
- Click on "CSV Export."
- Open the downloaded file
Email participants
- Go to the event page
- Click on "Registrant List
- Click on "Contact
