Feature Availability
This feature is deployed with the unified experience. It is available and usable immediately on all SharePoint Modern events.
This feature is an enhancement of the native SharePoint event management functionality.
Feature Constraint
The component relies on users' email addresses. Therefore, it is necessary that the email address is provided in Entra ID for a user to be able to register.
Page Layout
When registration management is enabled, the event page is reorganized into two columns. The left column contains the event information, and the right column contains the actions available to the user.

With Jint and registration management enabled:
Configuring Registrations
A Manage Registrations button is added to the action bar of the page in display mode, alongside other native actions. Clicking this button opens a configuration panel. It allows you to define:
- Whether registrations are enabled for the event (disabled by default)
- The maximum number of registrants (leave 0 for no maximum)
- The registration start date (optional)
- The registration end date (optional)
- The visibility of the participant list to visitors
When registrations are enabled, users can register if registrations are open. Once registered, they can add the event to their Outlook calendar.
If the limit on the number of registrants is reached, additional users are added to a waiting list. They are automatically moved to the registered list when a registered user unregisters.
A user can unregister at any time via the "Unregister" button.
Using Registration Management
Enable Registrations
To manage registrations, the user must be at least a Contributor / Member on the site.
- Go to the event page.
- Click the "Manage Registrations" button.
- Enable registration management.
- Configure the registrations.

Registrations are now available on the event.
Viewing and Exporting Participants

- Click "Registrant List".
Export the list of registrants:
- Click "Export CSV".
- Open the downloaded file.
Send an Email to Participants
- Go to the event page.
- Click "Registrant List".
- Click "Contact".
What to Do If a User Cannot Register?
If a user does not see the "Manage Registrations" button or cannot register for an event, their permissions on the event may be insufficient.
Required Permissions
The user must have at least Contribute permissions on the site hosting the event.
Check a User’s Permissions
To ensure permissions are configured correctly, follow this procedure:
Step 1 — Check the event participant list
- Using a site owner account, create a new event.
- Enable registration management on this event.
- With the same account, register for the event.
-
Go to the following URL (adjusting values):
https://yourtenant.sharepoint.com/sites/yoursite/Lists/Participants/AllItems.aspx -
Open the Details of the last record corresponding to your registration, then click "Manage Access".
-
Go to Advanced Settings.
- Verify that the user in question has Contribute permissions on this item.
Step 2 — Check the user’s permissions on the site
- Click the gear icon at the top right of the intranet.
- Click Site Permissions, then Advanced Permission Settings.
- Click Check Permissions.
- Enter the name of the user in question.
- Verify that Contribute permissions are assigned to them.
If the permissions seem correct and the problem persists, take a screenshot of the user’s permissions and send it to the support team via your ticket.
