WebPart overview
The Jint My Feeds component allows you to offer users of your SharePoint spaces customizable news feed according to their favorites.
The objectives of this component are:
- Inform your users : Correct news can be broadcast in spaces where it is relevant.
- Create engagement among your users : By allowing your employees to participate in choosing the news they see, you allow them to engage in the company in a more active way.
- Customize your spaces : according to the needs of each employee, your spaces will be closer to everyone's needs.
Add the WebPart to your page
- Open the SharePoint page edit mode by clicking edit at the top right of the page,
- At the desired location, select the + button to open the component catalog,
- Search or scroll down the catalog to select the My feed component under the "Feed" category,
- The component is added to the desired location.
Component Parameterization
There are 5 categories of settings available for the News component:
- Title
- Layout
- Setting up news feed
- Display options
Title
You can choose the title you want for your newsfeed (except for the Carousel layout). To do this, simply, in edit mode, click in the area containing the title and change it.
Layout
In the Layout group, you can choose :
- The disposition of your choice
Hero
Top Story
Vertical Tiles
Feed
- The number of news to display
You can select how many news between 1 and 30. The choice is made either via the slider, or by entering the desired number in the input area at the right.
- The article sorting criterion
You can choose according to which criteria the news is sorted :
- Creation date
- Modification date
- Publication date
- A custom property.
If you select a "custom" sort, you will need to enter the name of the property by which to sort in the input field that appears below the drop-down list. No check is made a priori on the value entered, it is up to you to make sure that the property exists on all the news.
Setting up the news feed
In this category, you will be able to define the parameters allowing to dynamically define the news to be displayed.
The first parameter is the news source:
You have the choices between:
- All sites: the news displayed to the user comes from all the sites to which he has access,
- A list of sites: the news displayed to the user comes from the selected sites to which the user has access. Please note that this does not display news from a site to which the user does not have access,
- This site: only displays news published on the current site
Site selection
When you select the "A list of sites" option, a panel appears to allow you to search for the sites to select. This panel can be reopened later by clicking on the "Select sites" button that appears under the drop-down list.
Once the desired sites have been found, all you have to do is select them and click on the "Validate" button at the bottom of the panel:
The selected sites then appear in the main configuration panel, under the button allowing you to select sites. You can remove a previously selected site by clicking on the corresponding "trash can" icon:
Selections of terms
You can select the terms available to the users.
To do this, you define one term selection.

To add a term selection, click on the "Add a term" button. A new panel is then displayed to select the desired terms:
Once the terms have been selected, you just have to click on the "Save" button to validate your selection. It is possible to modify a selection or delete one:
Note: The terms available for default subscriptions are to be selected from those that have been made available to users with the available subscription term selection.
KQL query
Finally, you can define yourself the KQL query that will be used to filter the news.
Attention, the KQL query is added to all the filters defined in this section. No validation of the KQL query is done.

Display options
In this category, you will be able to customize the display of news in the component.
Clicking on the "Customize" button will open a new configuration panel allowing you to choose what information is displayed on each news item:
- Showing the number of likes
- Display of the "like" button
- Display of the news share button
- Displays of terms associated with the news :
- selection of printable terms
- Display of the number of views of the news
- Display of the date of the news. You can choose to display:
- the date of creation of the news,
- the date of the last modification of the news,
- the date of publication of the news,
- a custom property (no check is made a priori on the name of the property entered, must be of date type),
- Viewing the author of the news. You can choose to display:
- the author (creator) of the news
- the latest news modifier,
- a custom property (no check is made a priori on the name of the property entered, must be of text type),
All the modifications are visible live in the component.
You then have the option to display a link at the top of the component (not available for Hero and Carousel layouts):
You can choose the text as well as the redirect URL.
For the Horizontal Tiles and Top Story layouts, you can finally choose to display a "See more" button at the bottom of the component which will load a new news "page" (the number of news on a page is the number specified at the beginning of the configuration panel):
You can hide the component if no news is reported or if the display is on mobile respectively:
You can "Round" and "Box shadow" options for all dispositions except for "Top Story" disposition there is no box shadow :
