Description of the Behavior
After publishing news on SharePoint, it may not appear immediately in the Jint News component. A delay of a few minutes to several hours may be observed depending on your tenant's configuration.
Technical Explanation
The Jint News component relies on the SharePoint search mechanism. Specifically:
- The component uses the managed properties provided by the SharePoint search index.
- It does not read the crawled properties directly.
- The display of news therefore depends entirely on the SharePoint indexing delay.
This behavior is identical to that of the native SharePoint Highlighted Content component, which relies on the same indexing mechanism.
Possible Causes
Several factors related to your tenant's configuration may influence this delay:
- SharePoint search configuration and governance
- Security constraints or complex permission models
- Hub site configuration
- General SharePoint indexing behavior on the tenant
These elements are managed by Microsoft and are outside the scope of Jint's control.
Recommended Comparison Test
To determine if the delay is indeed related to SharePoint indexing, we recommend performing the following test:
- Publish a new test news item on your SharePoint site.
- Create a test page.
- Add to this page:
– the Jint News component
– the native SharePoint Highlighted Content component, configured to display news. - Compare the delay in appearance of the same news item on both components.
Interpreting the Results
Contacting Microsoft Support
If the test confirms an origin related to SharePoint indexing, you can open a ticket with Microsoft via the following link:

Tip: When contacting Microsoft, we recommend not mentioning Jint or other third-party solutions initially. Only reference the native Highlighted Content component as a basis for comparison. This ensures that the investigation focuses on Microsoft components and leads to a more effective resolution.
