How to Use Jint Automatic Page Translation
License
The automatic page translation is offered as a standalone solution or as a complementary feature to the Jint solution.
The use of automatic translation is subject to a license and subscription. To subscribe to automatic page translation, please contact your Customer Success Manager, , or reach out to the sales team if not.
Installation
If you are already a user of the Jint solution, we invite you to refer to the following chapters in the Jint requirements and installation guide:
- 3.2 Approval of applications for the Configurator and Jint APIs
- 3.6 Approval of Jint APIs Calls
If you are not a customer of the Jint solution, the installation description is provided in the documentation Translator requirements and installation guide.
Automatic Translation Configuration
- Translation Language
When you subscribe to your license, you define the list of languages for which you enable automatic translation. Jint's page automatic translation will only translate into these defined languages.
If you request translation into a language not included in your subscription, the page will be created without translation, similar to SharePoint's "Translation" feature.
This list of languages can be updated with your subscription. To do this, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
- Feature Scope
Define the scope of use for your feature if you wish to limit it to your communication purposes.
By default, page translation is applied to the entire Jint deployment scope.
If you desire a more restricted application scope, it is possible to define the application scope in the Automatic Translator menu of the Jint configurator by entering the list of sites.
- Click on "Add a Site."
- Enter the name of the site you want to add to the scope and confirm.
- The site is added to the list.

- SharePoint Configuration
Jint page translation works in conjunction with SharePoint's multilingual page management. Therefore, you must have added the additional languages you want to offer to your users on your SharePoint sites.
You can find information on how to configure your SharePoint sites for multilingual use in Microsoft's documentation: Create Multilingual SharePoint Sites, Pages, and News
It is possible to configure more languages on SharePoint sites than you have subscribed to, with Jint. Languages not included in the subscription will simply not be translated.
- User Authorization
All contributing users naturally have access to automatic page translation without any additional configuration. There are no additional rights to define; we rely on the existing SharePoint rights.
Automatically Translate Your Pages
Jint page translation is a supplement to SharePoint's features. To access it, simply open the "Translation" menu in SharePoint on your page's action bar.
Only users with contribution rights on the SharePoint site can access this feature.

Architecture and Security
Technology
We use Translator, an Azure Cognitive Service, for real-time translation using artificial intelligence technologies created and provided by Microsoft.
Architecture
Our service runs entirely in the secure Microsoft environment.
It consists of:
- A SharePoint extension Jint Translator installed on your tenant and executed in the browsers of your employees connected to SharePoint, just like Jint today.
- An Azure application performing security checks and verifying your users' identities through your tenant: The Azure Jint Translator application that requires permission to read and verify the identity of the user requesting translation.
- Azure Cognitive Service deployed on the Azure Jint tenant performing your translations.
Page Translation Architecture
Solution
Jint's automatic page translation panel replaces SharePoint's to enrich it with our features.

Automatic page translation automatically translates all native SharePoint and jint.coponents.
Components developed by you or other publishers are not automatically supported, but it is possible to integrate them into the solution for automatic translation. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for such requests.
