How to use Jint automatic page translation
License
Automatic page translation is offered as a standalone solution or as an additional feature of the Jint solution.
Use of automatic translation requires a license and subscription. To subscribe to automatic page translation, contact your Customer Success Manager if you are a Jint customer, or the sales team otherwise.
Installation
If you are already a user of the Jint solution, we invite you to consult the following chapters of the Jint prerequisites and installation documentation
- 3.2 Approving applications for the Jint Configurator and APIs
- 3.6 Approving calls to the Jint APIs
If you are not a customer of the Jint solution, the installation description is provided in the Translator prerequisites and installation documentation.
Automatic translation settings
- Translation language:
When subscribing to your license, you define the list of languages for which you enable automatic translation. Automatic page translation will translate only into these defined languages.
If you request a translation into a language not included in your subscription, the page will be created, but without translation, identical to the SharePoint "Translation" feature
This list of languages can be updated with your subscription. To do so, contact your Customer Success Manager.
- Feature scope:
Define the scope of use of your feature if you want to limit it to your communication needs.
By default, page translation is applied to the entire Jint deployment scope
If you want a more limited application scope, you can define the application scope in the Automatic Translator menu of Jint Portal by entering the list of sites.
- Click "Add a site"
- Enter the name of the site you want to add to the scope and confirm
- The site is added to the list
Define your site scope for page translation
- SharePoint settings:
Jint page translation works alongside SharePoint's multilingual page management. You must therefore add the additional languages that you want to offer your users on your SharePoint sites.
You can find information about configuring your SharePoint sites for multiple languages in the Microsoft documentation: Create multilingual SharePoint sites, pages, and news
You can configure more languages on your SharePoint sites than you have subscribed to with Jint. Languages not included in the subscription simply will not be translated.
- User permissions:
All contributor users naturally have access to automatic page translation without any additional configuration. No additional permissions need to be defined; we rely on the existing SharePoint permissions.
Automatically translate your pages
Jint page translation complements SharePoint features. To access it, simply open the "Translation" menu in SharePoint from the action bar of your page.
Only users with contribute permissions on the SharePoint site can access this feature

The Jint translation menu allows you to:
- Access the site's SharePoint language settings to modify the languages managed on the site and update translators
- View the status of the various translations, including the page status and update date
- Add new translations of the page
- Restart the translation for pages that already exist
Add a new translation
Adding one or more new languages to one of your pieces of content takes just a few clicks!
- Select "Add a new translation"
- Choose the language or languages in which you want to create and translate the page
- Confirm
- Confirmation that the translation has been completed is updated within a few seconds
- If an error occurs, you can restart the translation. If you continue to get the same result after several attempts, send the error message to our team via a support request.
❗ The "Automatic translation" indicator shows you which languages are subscribed for automatic translation.
- Pages in subscribed languages will be translated by our artificial intelligence
- Pages in unsubscribed languages will only be created with the content of the default page, identical to the SharePoint feature
Selecting languages for translation
Page creation
- The page or article is created in SharePoint in the defined language, and then each text element is translated.*
- Pages are created as drafts. You can validate and publish the content
- Pages naturally follow the SharePoint publishing and approval process that you have defined.
- The translators you entered in SharePoint multilingual management are notified to validate the automatically generated translation.
*Only SharePoint and Jint components are translated. See the "Scope" section below
Architecture and Security
Technology
We use Translator, an Azure Cognitive Service that enables real-time translation using artificial intelligence technologies created and provided by Microsoft.
Architecture
Our service runs entirely in the secure Microsoft environment
It consists of:
- A SharePoint extension, Mzk Translator , installed on your tenant and executed in the browser of your employees connected to SharePoint, just as Jint is today
- An Entra ID application that performs security checks and verifies your users' identities through your tenant: the Jint Translator Azure application, which requires permission to read and verify the identity of the user requesting the translation
- The Azure Cognitive Service deployed on the Jint Azure tenant, which performs your translations
Page Translation Architecture
Solution
The Jint automatic translation panel replaces the SharePoint panel to enhance it with our features
| SharePoint translation menu | Jint translation menu |
Scope
Automatic page translation automatically translates all native SharePoint and Jint components.
Third-party components developed by you or other vendors will not be supported automatically, but they can be integrated into the solution so that they are translated automatically. Contact your Customer Success Manager for this type of request.
Data security
The information you have translated and its translations are not stored by Jint or by the Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services that we use.
Security FAQ
What data is stored by Jint?
We record your subscription to the feature, the subscribed languages, and track usage volume for service monitoring and maintenance.
How is Azure Cognitive Service AI trained?
It was trained by Microsoft; it is a standard model.
Does the AI store information?
The Azure Cognitive Service AI, as currently offered, does not store any translations.
