If your organization manages its devices through an MDM/EMM solution (Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, Google Workspace, etc.), you can automatically push the Jint mobile app to your employees' phones and tablets. Users don't need to install anything themselves.
MDM works regardless of the publishing method. Whether your white-label app is published in open mode (Unlisted iOS / Public Android) or in private mode (Apple Business Manager / Managed Google Play), it can be distributed through MDM. The only difference is how the app arrives in your console (see below). MDM also applies to the generic app.
The examples use Microsoft Intune; the same logic applies to other MDMs.
iOS / iPadOS (through Apple Business Manager + MDM)
On Apple's side, every app distributed through MDM goes through Apps and Books in Apple Business Manager (VPP mechanism), whether it is public, Unlisted, or a Custom App.
Generic or white-label app in open mode (public / Unlisted)
- In Apple Business Manager > Apps and Books.
- Add the app: search for "Jint" (generic) or enter the link to your Unlisted app (white-label app in open mode).
- Under "Buy Licenses," enter the quantity (e.g., 500) and confirm (free).
- Force VPP token synchronization in Intune.
- The app appears in Intune, ready to be assigned to your groups.
White-label app in private mode (Custom App)
- You provide us with your Apple Organization ID, your organization's exact name, and your graphic assets (see The white-label app).
- Jint publishes the app as a Custom App (Apple review: 24–72 hours).
-
Once notified, go to Apple Business Manager > Custom Apps, select your app, and "purchase" the licenses (free).
Required step: without this "purchase," your MDM will not see the app.
- Sync the VPP token in Intune, then assign the app to your groups.
Find your Apple information
In business.apple.com > your Name/Profile (bottom left) > Preferences > Enrollment Information. Copy the organization name and the Organization ID (sometimes called the DEP ID or MDM Server Token ID).
Android (through Managed Google Play + MDM)
On Android, MDM distribution goes through Managed Google Play connected to your console.
Generic or white-label app in open mode (public)
The app ("Jint" or your public app) is available in Managed Google Play. Approve it in your MDM console and assign it to your groups.
White-label app in private mode (targeted private app)
- You provide us with your Google Organization ID, the app name, and your assets (512 × 512 px icon, 1080 × 1920 px splash screen).
-
Jint compiles the app as an Android App Bundle (.aab) and publishes it in private mode, targeted to your Organization ID.
Cloud-to-cloud distribution: no files are sent by email. Jint uploads the
.aaband authorizes your MDM to see and install the app. - Google security review (up to 24 hours for the first publication).
- Once confirmed by Jint, force a synchronization in your MDM console.
- The app appears in your inventory. Assign it to your groups.
Find your Google Organization ID
Method A — through Intune (recommended): Tenant administration > Connectors and tokens > Managed Google Play > copy the organization ID.
Method B — through the Managed Google Play portal: play.google.com/work > Admin settings > copy the organization ID.
Troubleshooting (common issues)
The white-label app (private mode) does not appear in Apple Business Manager
- Search in the Custom Apps section, not in the public search.
- Verify that the Organization ID provided to Jint is correct.
The app does not appear in Intune (iOS)
- Verify that the Apple VPP token is up to date and "Active" (Tenant administration > Connectors).
- Did you "purchase" the licenses in ABM (Apps and Books or Custom Apps)? This is the required trigger.
The app does not appear in Intune (Android)
- Synchronize manually: Tenant administration > Connectors and tokens > Managed Google Play > Sync.
- Verify that the connector is "Active" (green).
- When a private app is published for the first time, nothing will appear while the Google review is "In progress": wait up to 24 hours.
The app does not install on iPhones
- Verify that you have "purchased" enough licenses in ABM for the number of targeted users.
On Android, the user cannot find the app (private mode)
- A private app does not appear in the public Play Store. It is visible in the Work tab (Work Profile) or in the Play Store when the work account is selected.
