How can you make sure your employees don't miss important information? With Jint Notifications, you can send targeted messages directly to the SharePoint intranet and the Jint Mobile app, optionally associating them with a news article.
From the Notification Center, you can create, schedule, and track all your sends, and measure the engagement they generate.
This article describes how notifications work on the user side, as well as how to create and track notifications on the contributor side.

1. Receive and view notifications
Notifications sent through the SharePoint channel appear in the Notifications menu of the Unified Experience (left sidebar), which you can access via the bell icon 🔔.
- A red badge on the bell indicates the number of unread notifications.
- Each notification displays its title, the associated news article (if one was attached), and the time elapsed since it was received.
- A gray dot in the top-right corner of a notification indicates that it has not been read yet.
- Click Mark all as read to mark all your notifications as read.
Notifications sent through the Mobile channel are received as push notifications in the Jint Mobile app.
Use cases
Notifications can be used in several situations:
- Highlight an important news article or the news of the day.
- Relay an announcement from management or an HR update.
- Remind employees of an upcoming deadline or event.
- Reach frontline workers through mobile push notifications.
2. Access the Notification Center
The Notification Center is accessible from the Unified Experience via the Broadcast button.
📌 Access to the Notification Center is restricted to users with permissions for the Unified Experience module. If you don't have access, contact your Digital Workplace administrator.
To leave the Notification Center, click Exit in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Track your notifications: List view
The List view is displayed by default. It consists of two sections.
3.1 Engagement metrics
At the top of the screen, a banner displays the metrics for the selected period (monthly drop-down menu in the top-right corner):
- Notifications sent: the number of notifications sent during the period, along with its change compared to the previous period.
- Reach rate: the proportion of recipients actually reached by your notifications.
- Engagement rate: the proportion of recipients who interacted with your notifications.
3.2 List of notifications
Below the metrics, the table lists all your notifications with the following columns: Type, Subject, Status, Channel, Last modified, Scheduled date, Send date, and Sender.
- Filter the list using the All, Scheduled, Drafts, Failed, and Sent buttons.
- Find a specific notification using the Search bar.
- Sort the columns by clicking their headers.
- Access the available actions for a notification via the … menu at the end of the row.
4. Track your notifications: Calendar view
Click Calendar (in the top-right corner of the list) to view your notifications on a timeline. This view is ideal for organizing your communication schedule and avoiding overloading your employees.
- Choose a Week or Month view.
- Navigate from one period to another using the arrows, or return to today's date with Today.
- The same filters and search bar as in the List view are available.
- A legend at the bottom of the calendar indicates the color code for each status (see section 6).
5. Create a notification
Click the Create button in the top-right corner of the Notification Center. Creation takes place in three steps.
5.1 Step 1: Notification content
- Title (required): 50 characters maximum.
- Message (optional): 120 characters maximum.
- Attach an article: enable this option to associate a news article with your notification. The news article will appear as a card (image, title, excerpt) in the notification.
Click Next.
5.2 Step 2: Send settings
Distribution channels (required): select at least one channel.
- SharePoint: the notification appears in the intranet's Notifications menu.
- Mobile: the notification is sent as a push notification through the Jint Mobile app.
Recipients (required):
- Enable Entire company to send the notification to all employees,
- or search for and select people or groups in the Search for people or groups field.
Send
You can choose to send the notification immediately.
or enable the "Schedule send" option to schedule the send, then enter the desired Date and Time.
Click Next.
5.3 Step 3: Confirmation
Before sending, a summary allows you to check:
- the number of recipients,
- the notification's SharePoint preview,
- the notification's mobile preview.
Click Send or Schedule to confirm. If you need to modify an item, click Back.
💡 Always check both previews: on mobile, only the notification title is visible in the preview, so it must be sufficiently clear on its own.
6. Understand notification statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Sent | The notification was sent to all its recipients. |
| 🔵 Scheduled | The notification is scheduled and will be sent on the defined date and at the defined time. |
| 🟣 Sending | The notification is currently being distributed. |
| 🟠 Partial | The notification could only be sent to some of its recipients. |
| 🔴 Failed | Sending the notification failed. |
| Draft | The notification has been saved but has not yet been scheduled or sent. |
👉 If a notification remains in Partial or Failed status, please feel free to contact our team via the contact form.
7. Analyze your notifications
The Notification Center metrics cover your own sends. To measure the distribution, opening, and conversion of all notifications sent on your tenant, go to the Notification Analytics dashboard in Jint Portal.
⚠️ This feature is currently in BETA.
7.1 Access Notification Analytics
- Sign in to the Jint Portal.
- In the left menu, under Analytics, click Notifications.
7.2 Filter the data
Three filters, located in the top-right corner of the dashboard, allow you to refine the analysis:
- Period: by default, the displayed data covers the last 30 days.
-
Channel:
- All channels
- Mobile push: push notifications received in the Jint Mobile app
- Mobile feed: notifications displayed in the Jint Mobile app's notification feed
- SharePoint feed: notifications displayed in the Unified Experience's Notifications menu
-
Type:
- All types
- Linked to an article: notifications to which a news article was attached
- Alert: notifications with no associated news article
7.3 Read the metrics
For the selected segment, the dashboard displays three metrics:
- Notifications sent: total number of notifications sent during the period.
- Reach rate: proportion of recipients actually reached by the notifications.
- Engagement rate: proportion of recipients who interacted with the notifications.
Below the metrics, a chart shows the change in the number of notifications sent. The data is grouped by week over the 30-day window.
7.4 Export the data
Click Download in the top-right corner of the dashboard to export the analytics data.
💡 Combine the Channel and Type filters to compare your notification performance—for example, the engagement of article-linked notifications in the SharePoint feed versus alerts sent through mobile push.
