This article explains how to configure the various social media feeds (RSS, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram) displayed in the Social Media Wall component from Jint Portal.
đź’ˇ Note: Jint Portal replaces the Jint Configurator. If you previously used the "Social Media Wall" menu in the Configurator, you can now manage your sources from the Social Media Wall tab in Jint Portal.

1. Overview of the connection system for your social media accounts
The Social Media Wall component displays posts from your platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn), as well as public RSS feeds. To access them, it requires you to grant it connection authorization for each of these accounts.
This authorization takes the form of a connection key generated directly by the relevant platform. You are solely responsible for creating and managing these keys, which ensures that your credentials and personal data never pass through our servers.
đź’ˇ Note: these connection keys have a limited validity period. Once they expire, the corresponding feed stops displaying. Remember to renew them regularly to keep your social media activity running in the component.
2. Access the settings in Jint Portal
Prerequisites
To access the settings, you must have the Global Administrator or Social Media Wall Administrator role.
If the Social Media Wall menu does not appear in Jint Portal, this is probably due to a permissions restriction. We recommend contacting your organization's Jint solution administrators to obtain the required permissions.
Overview of the Social Media Wall tab
- Sign in to Jint Portal.
- In the left menu, under Components, click Social Media Wall.
- The News hub page opens. It has four tabs: RSS, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Each tab manages its own sources.
Once added, the sources are available in all Social Media Wall components in your environment. You then only need to select them in the component's configuration panel.
Each source has its own update frequency:
| Tab | What you add | Post updates |
|---|---|---|
| RSS | The URL of a public RSS feed | Continuously, with a maximum delay of 20 minutes |
| YouTube | A channel name, URL, or ID (API key required) | Continuously, with a maximum delay of 20 minutes |
| A display name and the page URL | At fixed times: 2:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 8:00 PM | |
| Your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts, through a Meta connection | Continuously, with a maximum delay of 60 minutes |
3. RSS feeds
You can add public RSS feeds to the Social Media Wall news feed.
Add an RSS feed
- On the News hub page, click the RSS tab.
- Click Add a feed.
- Enter the URL of the public RSS feed (for example: https://www.lemonde.fr/rss/une.xml).
- Confirm your entry.
The feed appears in the list and becomes available in all Social Media Wall components. RSS feeds are updated continuously, with a maximum delay of 20 minutes.
Edit or delete an RSS feed
Three icons are available for each feed in the list:
- Open (arrow): opens the feed URL in a new tab to check its content.
- Edit (pencil): edits the feed URL.
- Delete (trash can): removes the feed from the list.
4. YouTube
The Social Media Wall can display videos posted on one or more YouTube channels. You can add a channel in three ways:
- Using its name (@ handle): for example, @ContosoTV
- Using its URL: for example, https://www.youtube.com/@ContosoTV
- Using its channel ID: a unique identifier that starts with "UC," for example, UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. You can find it on the channel page in YouTube by selecting About, then Share channel, and Copy channel ID.
These three formats produce the same result. Choose the one that suits you or that you have available.
⚠️ Regardless of the method you choose, a YouTube API key is required. It is saved once in Jint Portal and applies to all your channels. Without it, no videos can be displayed in the Social Media Wall.
No specific permission is required to obtain this key. You only need to have a Google Developer account. The procedure consists of three steps:
- Create an API key in Google Developers Console.
- Save the API key in Jint Portal.
- Add your YouTube channels.
Create an API key in Google Developers Console
-
Sign in to Google Developers Console with the Google account you will use to manage the API connection.
Â
Â
-
Create a new project.
Â
 -
In the project dashboard, click Enable APIs and services.
 -
In the API library, select YouTube Data API v3.
ÂÂ
- Enable the API by clicking Enable.
 - Go to the credentials menu.
- Click Create credentials, then select API key.
You now have an API key to access the YouTube service. You can find it at any time in the credentials menu.
đź’ˇ Tip: in the key settings, you can restrict its use to the YouTube Data API v3 only. This limits the risks if the key is accidentally disclosed.
Save the API key in Jint Portal
- On the News hub page, click the YouTube tab.
- Click the API key button.
- In the YouTube credentials window, paste your key into the API key field. The eye icon lets you display the key to check your entry.
- Click Save credentials.
The key is shared by all added YouTube channels. To replace it, repeat the procedure above with the new key.
Add a YouTube channel
- In the YouTube tab, click Add an account.
- An entry row appears at the bottom of the list. Enter the channel name (for example: @ContosoTV), its URL, or its ID.
- Click the check mark âś“ to confirm. To cancel, click the X âś•.
The channel appears in the list and becomes available in all Social Media Wall components. YouTube feeds are updated continuously, with a maximum delay of 20 minutes.
Edit or delete a YouTube channel
For each channel in the list:
- Edit (pencil): edits the channel name, URL, or ID.
- Delete (trash can): removes the channel from the list.
5. LinkedIn
Supported LinkedIn pages
The Social Media Wall lets you group posts from the following pages:
- Companies: small, medium-sized, and large companies
- Educational institutions: schools and universities
- Showcases: subpages linked to an existing page
⚠️ Personal LinkedIn accounts cannot be integrated into the Social Media Wall.
Add a LinkedIn account
- On the News hub page, click the LinkedIn tab.
- Click Add account.
- In the Display name field, enter the name of the LinkedIn account to follow. This name will be visible in the component display and in its configuration panel.
- In the Account URL field, paste the URL of the page to display. The following formats are accepted:
- https://www.linkedin.com/company/microsoft/ for a company
- https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/microsoftresearch/ for a showcase
- https://www.linkedin.com/school/digital-college/ for an educational institution
- Confirm your entry.
The account becomes available in all Social Media Wall components. For each account in the list, you can open the LinkedIn page (arrow), edit the name or URL (pencil), or delete the account (trash can).
Post update frequency
⚠️ Unlike other sources, LinkedIn feeds are not updated continuously. They are refreshed four times a day, at the following times: 2:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 8:00 PM.
This applies both when adding a new account in Jint Portal and when creating a new post on LinkedIn: the post appears in the Social Media Wall after one of these updates, not immediately.
6. The Meta network: Facebook and Instagram
Meta provides access to your Facebook and Instagram pages through its interfaces (APIs). However, its strict data privacy policy requires each Facebook or Instagram page administrator to explicitly authorize the retrieval of posts published on these pages.
For more information about personal data management, see the Jint Privacy Policy regarding the use of Meta.
Connect your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts
- On the News hub page, click the Facebook tab.
- Click Connect to Meta.
 -
A Facebook window opens. Sign in with the Facebook account that administers the pages to display. If you are already signed in, Facebook may ask you to enter your password again to confirm your identity.
- Click Continue as <your Facebook name>.
- Select the Facebook pages and Instagram accounts that you want to integrate into your Digital Workplace.
- Confirm your selection.
Authorized pages appear in the Meta accounts list with the Connected status. They are then available in the Social Media Wall component. Meta feeds are updated continuously, with a maximum delay of 60 minutes.
Monitor connection status and expiration
For each page, the Meta accounts list indicates:
- Status: the connection status (for example: Connected).
- Expiration: the date on which the connection authorization expires.
⚠️ Once the authorization expires, the page's posts are no longer displayed in the Social Media Wall. Before this date, click Connect to Meta again and follow the procedure above to renew the authorization.
Remove a page from the list
Click the trash can icon next to the page you want to remove.
⚠️ Removing a page from the list does not revoke Jint's access permission for that page; it only removes the page from the list.
Having trouble adding Instagram accounts?
For your Instagram accounts to appear in the list of pages available when connecting to Meta, they must be linked to one of the Facebook pages of the Meta account connected in Jint Portal.
To access this configuration page, click the following link: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=linked_instagram
For your information: a Facebook page is always created from a user account. Once the page is created, a specific account is automatically linked to it. To associate your Facebook page with your Instagram account, make sure you are signed in to the Facebook account associated with this page.
If the Instagram and Facebook accounts are correctly linked, they appear on this page: https://accountscenter.instagram.com/
